Prince Harry’s explosive allegations in his memoir, Spare, may have thrown Prince William and Kate Middleton some unwelcome attention over the past month, but their BAFTA appearance last week proved the King and Queen in waiting are more united than ever as fans fawned over their flirty display.

Wearing bridal white, complemented by black silk gloves, Kate, 41, reached over to cheekily tap William’s bottom as they took to the red carpet, while the couple were seen whispering into each other’s ears and smiling widely.

“You can see the chemistry between these two!” wrote one fan on social media, while another added, “Not Princess Kate tapping William on the a*** in front of the world!”

And now a source reveals that the couple are so content and secure in their 13-year marriage that their thoughts have again turned to welcoming a fourth addition to their brood.

Our insider says, “Kate and William are in such a happy place at the moment. They’ve bonded enormously through all of the challenges of the past year or so and have come out stronger than ever as a couple.

“Having another child is still on the cards, since they’d both love to add to the family and feel confident they’d cope just fine with another little one, if Kate’s blessed enough to fall pregnant again. But there’s a feeling among their circle that it’s now or never if they’re to make good on this.”

Closer reported last year how parenthood had far exceeded Prince William, 40, and Kate’s expectations, and how their children – Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and four-year-old Prince Louis – have been their safe haven through a turbulent couple of years, which have included Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s attacks on the family, and the sad death of the Queen last September.

“William and Kate both take the view that they’re totally blessed and fortunate to have three healthy and beautiful children who light up their lives and keep them incredibly occupied and busy in the best way possible,” a source said
at the time.

But while the couple, who have now settled into their new family home, Adelaide Cottage in Windsor – where they relocated in October, following the Queen’s passing – are said to have taken a relaxed approach to falling pregnant, the insider says Prince Louis’ fifth birthday in April has prompted them into action.

The source adds, “They are leaning very much towards giving it a try, as they’ve always dreamed of being a family of six and the children would be absolutely overjoyed to welcome a baby brother or sister. That has definitely helped to sway them. Plus Kate’s age is a consideration of course, even though she’s in fantastic health.”

Kate has always been open about her love of children, and especially young babies, launching the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in 2021 as part of her work as the Princess of Wales.

Away from public life, she also revealed to legendary TV cook Mary Berry that she’s known to stay up late ahead of her children’s birthdays to prepare their cakes herself, and regularly takes the children to school as well as taking it upon herself to home-school during lockdown.

William, who is often photographed comically swerving his wife away from small babies, joked during a visit to a Glasgow school last May, “Can you get my wife out of here before she gets broody?”

Kate herself has admitted, “I love babies”, and now an insider says their latest PDAs are a sign that William is coming round to the idea.

The couple, who first met when they attended St Andrew’s University together – with William falling for flatmate Kate when she appeared in a sheer negligee during a student catwalk show – have been flirtier than ever over the past few months.

As well as what has been dubbed the “bum tap”, the pair were spotted snuggling with their heads together at Wimbledon last summer, and Kate was photographed giggling at William when he teasingly raised a suggestive eyebrow at her during an NBA game in Boston during their visit.

The source adds, “They’ll set aside more couple time and William’s keen to arrange date nights and trips away – just the two of them and not involving the kids – so they can spend quality time together. Kate’s glowing and more loved-up than ever.

“They had such a blast in Boston in December, even though it was a work trip, and love the idea of jetting off on more overseas breaks as well as their usual jaunts down to the Scilly Isles and other parts of the UK.

“Both William and Kate are keen to build on the wonderful spark they’ve got going on romantically.”
