Justin Bieber has dumped yet another pet and landed a friend with an $8,000 vet bill as a result.
The 22-year-old gave Todd, a seven-month-old chow, to his backing dancer C.J. Salvador and his parents after deciding he couldn’t care for him due to his busy work schedule.
But after a recent check-up it was discovered the dog has severe hip dysplasia, meaning he won’t be able to walk by the age of one unless he undergoes very expensive surgery costing $8,000.
Unable to afford the pricey surgery on his own, CJ set up a gofundme page in a bid to raise the money needed, and quickly recieved the amount required.
However, despite there being more than 90 donors including Will Smith’s singer son Jaden, Justin did not contribute.
Writing on Facebook to defend the singer's lack of action, CJ said: “My parents adopted him which now gives US the responsibility of taking care of him. I did not ask JB for money because he has nothing to do with the situation. I have had an amazing professional relationship with him for over 5 years and I plan on contributing to his camp for as long as I can.”
This is not the first time the pop star has abandoned his pets. In 2012 he randomly gave his pet hamster to fan. In 2013 he left his pet monkey, OG Mally, in quarantine in Germany. And in 2014 be was accused of simply abandoning his American bulldog pup, Karma, after taking it to a puppy trainer and never returning to collect her.
Do you think Justin Bieber is setting a bad example by treating his pets like this? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter.
