The singer was the victim of a planned kidnap and murder attempt in 2011.

Earlier this year Kevin Liverpool, 35, and Junior Bradshaw, 18, were jailed for conspiracy to murder and rob Miss Stone.

Following the kidnap attempt, the Devon-based singer added a German Shepherd-collie cross called Maggie, and Igor the Caucasian Ovcharka to her ‘pack’ of dogs, which includes a Rottweiler called Missy Elliott, and a teacup poodle, called Dusty Springfield.

Speaking about the case, the 26-year-old revealed:

‘I wanted to have a protective dog because I had this murder thing happen. I looked up the top ten protective dogs online. A big picture of a Caucasian Ovcharka came up.

‘Missy is my most protective dog. Dusty stays with me in my bedroom at night. Dusty sounds the alarm and Missy might eat somebody. Then Igor lives outside. They keep me at home.

‘I always try to turn anything negative that happens into a positive.

‘It wasn’t the easiest thing in this instance, but in time I got there. “OK,” I thought, “this is the perfect excuse for me to get more puppies!”’

Following the mens’ conviction, a brave Joss told a local radio station:

'I'm fine, my doggies keep me safe. It will be something to add to my tapestry of life and something to tell my grandchildren.'
