This may well be Josie Gibson’s last Christmas as a mum-of-one as insiders say that the presenter has added a late addition to her Christmas list this year, and that’s a new baby brother or sister for her son, Reggie.
Josie, 39, welcomed six-year-old Reggie back in September 2018 with then-boyfriend, property developer Terry Bond. However, the pair split up just a few months after she gave birth, and since then Josie has been concentrating on building her career in television and being a mum to Reggie. However, sources now say that Josie thinks this could be the perfect time to give Reggie a sibling.
A source tells Closer, 'Josie has often wondered about having more children but she's always been too focussed on her career, making sure she could provide for Reggie as a single parent. She's so proud of everything she's achieved and the job she's done as a mum so far, and now that she's finally feeling more secure, she's been getting increasingly broody.’
Josie’s first relationship in the public eye was with her fellow Big Brother housemate John James Parton in 2010—he made it to day 73 in the house while she went on to win the series. The pair dated for a year, and he heavily featured on Josie’s short-lived reality spin-off show, There's Something About Josie. After their split, Josie revealed, ‘He doesn't want a girlfriend, he's just fame hungry.’ She then went on to have a three-year on-off relationship with her ex-fiancé, plumber Luke Sanwo. Recently, many fans suspected a spark between her and fellow TV presenter Stephen Mulhern, 47, but the pair have each denied a romantic connection and made light of the rumours.
Our source says, ‘Even though Josie is single, she doesn't think it should stop her from letting Reggie have a little brother or a sister. She’s heard amazing stories from single mothers who have got pregnant via sperm donor, and she knows there are options out there. She hasn't got to that stage quite yet but it's something she really wants to prioritize next year.’
Back in 2022, Josie revealed in an interview that she’d always wanted more kids, saying, ‘If I had the time, I’d adopt to give Reggie a brother or a sister. I love kids. I wish I’d started earlier. I’d have had about 10!’ Although Josie is single, she does have a wonderful support network through her friends and This Morning colleagues.
‘She knows she's in a supportive workplace and feels that This Morning producers would be thrilled for her, especially as she would be happy to share her pregnancy journey on the show. She feels really lucky to be where she is in life, and it's just made her want to share that with another child. It's baby steps for now, but it’s something that she'll be concentrating more on in the New Year.’
