Josie Cunningham has taken to Twitter to apologise for her ill-advised Robin Williams tweet, in which she reassured fans she 'wouldn't have the same destiny' as the tragic actor.

After receiving a tirade of abuse following the 63-year-old's passing, Josie retweeted some of the messages, followed by the reassurance she would not take her own life.

But rather the quell the abuse, this tweet only caused more internet users to attack the mum-of-two, saying it was a 'travesty' that people like her were alive, when people like Robin were dead.

And this morning Josie clarified her position, writing: 'Just want to apologise for my Robin Williams tweet - The point i was trying to make was no amount of online abuse you aim at me will get me to a state that I would consider taking my own life. From the moment Robin Williams death was announced, people saw it as a fresh angle to send me abuse - so I reacted without thought.'

She signed off with the infamous shot of Mrs Doubtfire putting her middle finger up, captioned: 'One last thing, to all the haters...'
