John David Duggar, who is the younger brother of Josh, said heartbreakingly that he had to tell his sibling: ‘I don’t want to be like you anymore’ after years of looking up to him.

Josh Duggar, 27, fell from grace after news that he had molested some of his sisters when they were children came to light in May.

After admitting to this, and the whole family rallying round their brother, Josh was then found to have been unfaithful to his wife, and have an account with Ashley Madison - a website set up to enable people to have affairs.

‘I don’t think there’s any way any of us would have known that my brother was living such a secret life,’ his brother Joseph, 20, said.

‘It broke my heart.’

And it isn’t just his siblings that have been hurt by Josh’s actions, as his wife, Anna Duggar, has also spoken out about her heartbreak.

‘It’s like, ‘I’m going to wake up and everything’s going to be okay’’ she said in a recent interview.

‘This can’t be true.’

The betrayal must have felt all the more painful as Anna just gave birth to their fourth child, Meredith, five months ago.

19 Kids and Counting, the show which documented the devout Christian family The Duggars, was cancelled this year after the molestation scandal.
