The 24-year-old is the son of Wansbeck Labour MP Ian Lavery, who is patron of brain injury charity Headway.

Speaking out last night, pregnant mother-of-three Jordan told a UK newspaper:

“This makes me sick to my stomach. Not just that someone could be so vile as to think such a thing, but also could think it clever to repeat to the world on Twitter?

“What kind of father, what kind of MP, is Ian Lavery? He’s the patron of Headway — yet he brings his son up to think and act like this?

“These disgusting comments aimed at Harvey all too often get aimed at other disabled children and the poor souls his father’s charity rightly campaigns for. This is just as much a hate crime as racism and should be treated as such.”

Ian Lavery, 50, spoke out to voice his disgust at his son’s comments, although he distanced himself from them.

“I’m absolutely appalled by it but I cannot police my kids and I have no intention to. They have to learn how to behave in the big wide world like I did,” he said.

However Lavery Jnr reacted angrily to the controversy he caused on Twitter, raging:

“Does no f***** listen? Yes it was a sick joke that’s why it got deleted! Obviously some t*** managed to take a pic before it was deleted. Stop going on about it for f*** sake!”

He later apologised to Jordan, admitting he was ashamed, and adding:

“I feel so stupid. I didn’t actually find it funny.”

34-year-old Jordan retweeted various offensive comments on her page this morning, showcasing how often she falls victim to Twitter abuse.

One tweet read: “@misskatieprice great mum? Maybe if she wasn't drinking and smoking while she was pregnant he wouldn't have turned out like this”.

Jordan, real name Katie Price, tweeted:

“RT time to stop bullying on #disability #racism #homaphobia #ageism it's all wrong, we are all as one the same x”

Son Harvey, 10, was born with septo-optic dysplasia, causing blindness and growth hormone deficiency.

He also suffers from Prade -Willi syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, which can lead to obesity and diabetes.
