Jonathan Ross and Jane Goldman's daughter and body positivity campaigner Honey has opened up about being put on a diet from a young age – and urged other parents not to do the same.

The model was a guest on Loose Women and spoke out about how she found a place of better body positivity.

"From a young age, I felt I didn’t have any control over my image," she said.

"I felt I didn’t have a place to carve out my own identity. I found Instagram and I was like, I can express myself and show people who I really am."

"It was a way for me to figure myself out better. I have parents who were raised in the same society as all of us.

"They saw me, a teenage girl coming home saying, I hate my body," said Honey, who is a co-host on The Body Protest podcast.

"They tried to give me solutions to a problem I brought to them, which was to lose weight. They presented me with diets and diets, as we know, don’t work and are absolutely toxic."

I don't do mornings? We can all relate tbh. This night dress is an absolute yes from us. We'd either wear it as a nightie or size up and wear it as an oversized t-shirt.

The issue is particularly prevalent at the moment, with the government pushing their anti-obesity agenda, with parents perhaps feeling the pressure.

"My advice to parents is keep that as far away from your children as possible," said Honey.

"If you want them to have a good relationship with food and their bodies growing up do not shame them."
