Depp hasn’t been popular Down Under, where he has been filming the latest instalment of Pirates of the Carribbean, after he got into hot water over bringing his dogs into the country.

But after visiting the Lady Cliento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Depp has made the day of many children on the oncology and neurology wards.

Appearing in full Jack Sparrow costume, the American actor handed out gold coins to children and was filmed for a 30 minute programme by Juiced TV.

In 2007, when Johnny’s daughter suffered kidney failure, she was admitted to the Great Ormand Street Hospital in London.

Depp was so grateful to hospital staff after her stay that he donated £1 million to the facility and made a surprise visit dressed as the infamous pirate two years later.

Johnny has two children from his 14 year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, who he split from in 2012.

He is now married to American actress Amber Heard.
