He also spoke of his confusion as to why some of the other contestants hadn’t taken to Amy like he did.

Talking about the I’m a Celebrity wrap party, where it was reported that the jungle ‘bullying’ towards Amy continued, he said: “I stood by Amy all night and I said, ‘please everyone, just leave her alone. She’s only 21, she’s younger than me.’

“She is a nice genuine girl. It wasn’t nice to be [in the jungle] and see that. She didn’t do anything wrong, I thought it was hilarious when we found out that she had 21 bikinis.”

Joey insists that the pair are just good friends, and says Amy is a 'genuinley nice person'

Moving away from relationships, Joey reflected on what he had to do whilst in the jungle, particularly eating strange body parts of animals.

He said: “The turkey ball was like a water bomb, I should have bit it first and drained it. When I first ate the pig brain, I thought, ‘it can’t get any worse’, but it did. The ostrich penis was disgusting.

“I felt so sick after. When I came out, everyone kept saying they couldn’t believe I did it, but I couldn’t believe it either. “

Joey also admitted that before the jungle he didn’t know that you had to chop vegetables, saying: “I thought they just kind of came like that in Marks and Spencer.”
