The original snap included Hollywood stars Bradley Cooper, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence.

Ellen’s star-studded snap has been reposted millions of times by Twitter users, and a few attempts have been made to recreate it since.

However, one of our favourites has to be Joan Collins’ group selfie taken at the Prince’s Trust Awards last night.

The actress gathered together Dominic Cooper, Pixie Lott, Sam Bailey, Sir Ben Kinglsey, Vernon Kay, Tess Daley and Jools Hooland for the snap.

After taking the picture – holding out her arms just like Bradley Cooper did for the Oscars selfie – Joan reportedly said: “We got it. If they can do it at the Oscars, we can do it here.”

The Simpsons also put their own spin on the snap

Sadly though, Joan’s picture didn’t quite have the same effect as Ellen’s. It was only retweeted a few hundred times.

The Simpsons also posted their own version of the Oscars selfie on Twitter last week. It was an animated version of the snap, but this time, of course, it included Homer Simpson.
