She’s attempting a bid for a musical comeback – but while fans are flocking to see Katie Price perform at clubs, her pop ambitions have left boyfriend JJ Slater unimpressed.
The 46-year-old former model is hoping to return to the charts 20 years after she lost a bid to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Katie recently performed a gig at a nightclub in Barnsley, being filmed downing shots and belting out a rendition of Jermaine Stewart’s We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off with her nose bandaged after recent surgery.
And a source tells Closer that JJ, 32, is feeling torn over his girlfriend’s new career. ‘JJ’s such a supportive person, but he does have his limits,’ says our insider. ‘He wants to see her doing what makes her happy and loves that she thrives on stage but, at the same time, he’s told friends that he did feel quite embarrassed watching her from the side of the stage. Katie becomes a different person when performing.’
JJ and Katie met last year after he appeared on Married At First Sight UK, with the former glamour model reaching out to him, later realising that he had messaged her months before, calling her ‘fit’.
The source adds, ‘Katie was necking shots all night and looked a bit desperate for attention. Being with her seemed fun and exciting for JJ at first but he’s now worried that it’s all a bit humiliating.’
