Jake Roche just took it to a whole new level, didn’t he?
Jesy, 24, and the Rixton boybander, 22, might be young (ish), but her being 1/4 of the world’s biggest girl group meant poor Jake had a challenge on his hands when popping the question.
But he definitely rose to the challenge and Jesy proudly flashed her sparkler today as Little Mix performed at Key 103 Summer Live.
Sharing a snap of the moment Jake got down on one knee, Jesy gushed: “I cannot believe what has just happened! The most surreal moment of my life and everyone that I love most was there to share it with us!
“I feel like the luckiest girl in the world rite now literally cannot stop crying! Future Mrs Roche [sic].”
Jake took to Twitter to thank special guest Ed, 24, writing: “Travelled 5 hours to sing our favourite song on his day off. I will never ever be able to repay you. Love you pal. @edhseeran [sic].”
Jesy’s band mates, who were in attendance for the special moment, were quick to offer their congratulations to the happy couple.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock shared the same picture on Instagram and said: “Possibly one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed!
“Never before have I ever seen a couple so made for each other! I am so happy for you both you beautiful beings!!!!
“@jesymix14 @jake_rixton and the biggest shout out ever to Mr Ed Sheeran for making it so special for them!! [sic].”
Jade Thirlwall added: “The whole year @jesymix_14 and Jake_rixton have been together, whenever I see them, I literally watch them like some sort of pervert in awe of how truly in love they are.
“I am so happy for you both. Feel so lucky to have been there with the girls to watch this beautiful moment, we felt like 3 proud mothers. I love you Jesy and I love Jake for how much he loves you [sic].”
Jesy has revealed that Jake’s proposal felt like the moment Little Mix won The X Factor in 2011, becoming the first band to do so in the show’s history.
She told Key 103: “"To be honest, it was all a bit of a blur. I thought we'd finished sound check and then long and behold, old Ed [Sheeran] walks on.
"I had my back turned to him and the girls were like, 'Jess, Jess' and then I turned around and he sang mine and Jake's song, 'Tenerife Sea'. And as soon as he sang that, I just balled."
She continued: "We've spoken about [marriage] but I never thought that it was going to happen, not today!”
Jake and Jesy have been together since September last year, after spending the summer hanging out at festivals together.
