Friends of EastEnders star Jessie Wallace are worried about the actress after all-day boozing

Jessie, 46, didn't even make it to the red carpet for the British Soap Awards on Saturday night because she was too drunk.

The actress, who plays party-loving Kat Slater, had been boozing with a pal since 4pm. They shared a photo on Twitter, which showed Jessie already looking a bit worse for wear.

She was ordered to leave the ceremony at London's Hackney Empire shortly after arriving at 7pm. A source told The Sun Online: "Jessie had obviously been drinking quite heavily before she arrived. She was slurring her words, and then started knocking them back at the pre-ceremony party too."

They added: "One of the organisers was then encouraging her to leave the bar area and take her seat for the awards. But she got pretty feisty about it and insisted she was staying instead."

Jessie then headed to Soho where she struggled to walk properly and was cruelly captured on video as she feel down in the street. Co-star Lacey Turner came to the star's defense by explaining that Jessie had a case of sunstroke.

But Jessie is no stranger to partying and was suspended from EastEnders in 2003 for reportedly being caught dabbling in drugs. She was also convicted of drink-driving in the same year. That's why friends and fans are now worried she's slipping back into her old ways.

We're not sure if the star was simply letting her hair down, but we hope that she has the support and care she needs to keep happy and healthy.

We don't want to have to wave goodbye to Kat Slater again.
