The star went on to describe the positive effect that her new clean lifestyle has had on her life. ‘It has made a difference. Honestly, I think when you live cleaner, your mind is cleaner.’
Jessie made the revelations at the opening performance of her stadium tour in Belfast. The singer suggested that her decision to stay away from drink has helped her keep in top shape for the tour.
Jessie also attributes her slim physique to work outs and healthy eating. ‘I’ve been working out with Nike loads and having protein shakes, making sure my diets right and just being vocally prepared.’
Though Jessie’s physical wellbeing has clearly benefited from her lifestyle choice, the hit maker went on to say how her social life had not suffered after giving up the booze.
Jessie insists that she does not feel like she is missing out: ‘Not drinking hasn’t been too tough on my social life and going out, as I don’t have many friends.’
But before you start feeling sorry for Jessie, she continues, ‘I mean that in a positive way. I have the friends that I need and that’s it. And they fit in my life.’
Throughout her career, Jessie has steered away from the party lifestyle that many pop stars adopt.
The singer, who shaved her head for Comic Relief in March, has previously spoken out about her history of heath problems. She suffers from heart condition Wolff-Parkinson White syndrome that resulted in her suffering a stroke at the age of 18.
