But despite the height of the throw, little Ace certainly looks to be enjoying the experience as he smiles excitedly in the picture, taken at the couple’s home in California.

Captioning the snap, Jessica wrote: ‘I was on a plane to NYC today and I missed out on this!!! I’m in LOVE with the 2 of them. #boyswillbeboys.’

However, several of her Instagram followers expressed concern over the photo, adding that they 'wouldn't let my husband do this,' and that it 'does seem a little dangerous.'

Others saw no problem in the act, adding that people 'always have to have something to complain about,' and that the baby was perfectly safe being tossed around above the pool.

Jessica and husband Eric have two children, daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace, 14 months. They married in July after a four year engagement.
