Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill gives birth to her second child – and posts adorable snap

Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill has given birth to a newborn daughter, Olivia, her second child with husband Andy Hill.

She announced the new baby news in a gorgeous black and white photograph on Instagram captioned: "Reggie meeting his beautiful baby sister Olivia Ennis-Hill, she was born Saturday night. We are all so in love with her."

In the heartfelt snap, Olivia's tiny hand is curled around the finger of Jessica and Andy's three year old son, Reggie.

Fans have rushed in to congratulate the athlete, with one Instagram user posting: "Super news, congratulations Jess on your new addition, wishing you all much love and happiness x."

Another wrote: "Huge congrats Jess!! Gorgeous news - enjoy these precious moments, little girls are the best!!"

The retired Olympic heptathlete announced her pregnancy back in May this year, in another photo featuring Reggie - who, it seems, won't be feeling left out! - clutching a book entitled "I'm going to be a big brother".

"Someone's going to be a big brother! Another little Ennis-Hill on the way. So happy."

Jessica, who won gold at the 2012 Olympic Games in London for Great Britain.

After having her son, Reggie, she then went on to win a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics, before retiring from professional sport the following October.

She announced on Instagram at the time: "This has been one of the toughest decisions I've had to make. But I know that retiring now is right. I've always said I want to leave my sport on a high and have no regrets and I can truly say that."

Since then, she has founded music and running festival Vitality Move, which is dedicated to getting a wide range of people involved in running.
