Stephanie Davis recently posted a photo of her bruised legs on Snapchat and now Jeremy McConnell has been arrested
Following Stephanie Davis and Jeremy McConnell unfollowing each other on Twitter and Instagram it has now been reported that Jez has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
Jeremy has spent a lot of time in Liverpool with the mother of his child and his son Caben-Albi after it was confirmed he's the biological father of Steph's child. It was only recent that Steph flew to Dublin to support the Irish model at his father's funeral after he passed away.
A representative for Jeremy confirmed the tragic news and said: "On Friday 3rd March 2017 Jeremy McConnell's father passed away after a short battle with cancer. We ask that Jeremy is given space and privacy at this incredibly sad time," they told The Sun Online.
Following the funeral Jeremy spent time in Liverpool with Steph and his son but he flew back to his hometown after his aunt passed away just days after his dad.
During his time in Ireland Steph posted a Snapchat of her bruised legs in the bath with the caption "trying to relax," and there were reports that neighbours could hear arguments from instead Steph's house. It was then confirmed by the Merseyside Police officers that they're looking into the claims of the mum-of-one being an alleged victim and now Jeremy has returned to Liverpool and been arrested for the alleged incident.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the news and said: "Following a report of an assault at an address in [Liverpool], a man has this morning [Thursday March 16)] been arrested.
"A 27-year-old man from Liverpool city centre has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage after voluntarily attending a police station on Merseyside.
"He remains in police custody for questioning."
A spokesperson for the police previously confirmed there was an incident at Steph's house. They told the Mirror: "Merseyside Police can confirm a report was received of an assault at a property on Thursday 9 March.
“Officers were contacted on Sunday, 12 March and an investigation into the incident is on-going. At this time no arrests have been made," they told the Mirror Online.
A representative for Jeremy has denied his involvement and said: "Jeremy denies any wrong doing, however he is fully cooperating with the police in their investigations."
The couple who started dating in the Celebrity Big Brother house last year while Steph was in a relationship with Sam Reece outside of the house split a few months later amid cheating allegations.
During Jeremy's This Morning interview he admitted their relationship was "toxic" and that's why they didn't reunite after she revealed she was pregnant. He admitted: "The reason I didn't get back with her and support her through the time was the relationship was so toxic.
"I think she said it herself - as well she had her own issues - and I just wasn't putting myself, her and the baby at risk of anything being involved with that."
