After finally confirming rumours that her marriage was over when she filed for divorce just two years after she and Ben Affleck headed down the aisle, Jennifer Lopez is said to be humiliated after claims he’s already moved on.
Within days of the announcement, rumours began swirling that the Gone Girl actor, 52, was dating actress and activist Kathleen 'Kick' Kennedy.
While a representative for Ben has strongly denied the rumours, a source tells Closer that Jennifer, 55, has been left "shocked" and "humiliated" by the scandal.
They say, "Jen is shocked, humiliated and furious about the claims of Ben’s new ‘showmance’ with Kick – telling pals she caught him messaging her while they were together and, while it was platonic at the time, she’s convinced he’d been planning to move on with her when things started to go sour between them.
"To further twist the knife, one of Jen’s reps apparently saw them canoodling at a restaurant together which was understandably extremely painful to hear – especially when it was just days after the divorce had been filed."
However, the insider says Jennifer, who first fell head over heels for Ben in 2001 and reunited with him in 2021, believes Ben’s "romance" with Kick, 36 – who sources say has ‘always’ had a celebrity crush on Ben – is nothing but a rebound.
The source adds, "Jen heard from mutual friends that he’s fallen hard and fast for Kick and Ben has credited her for helping pull him out of a dark place following his split from Jen.
"But she’s convinced that it’s a rebound and insists Kick will come to her senses when she realises that."
