Jennifer Lawrence is one of our absolute favourite people ever and it's not just because she's an extraordinarily talented actress, wonderful self-deprecating and utterly down-to-earth.
It's actually all down to the fact that she's been using her position as a teen icon for good, not evil, promoting a healthy body image and slamming fat-shakers and bullies everywhere.
Speaking to Barbara Walters for her annual 10 Most Fascinating People of 2013 special, Jen asked: "Why is humiliating people funny? I get it, I do it too. We all do it."
But she then added: "I think the media needs to take responsibility for the effect it has on our younger generation on these girls that are watching these television shows and picking up how to talk and how to be cool.
"So all of the sudden being funny is making fun of the girl that's wearing an ugly dress. And the word fat! I just think it should be illegal to call somebody fat on TV.
"If we're regulating cigarettes and sex and cuss words because of the effect it has on our younger generation, why aren't we regulating things like calling somebody fat?"
She has a very good point, doesn't she?
Jen then added that she is considered to be amongst the larger actresses of her own age in Hollywood, saying: "In Hollywood, I'm obese. I'm considered a fat actress."
However Jennifer, like a real life Katniss Everdeen, won't let anybody dictate their opinions to her. In the past, she has revealed that she has an extra-special reply for those who suggest she ought to go on a diet:
"If anybody even tries to whisper the word 'diet, I'm like, 'You can go f**k yourself."
Amazing; we're so glad that there's a level-headed woman speaking up on behalf of all of us in the public eye!
