28-year-old Laura was invited to the 2014 Academy Awards by best friend, Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence.

She wrote: ‘How did I get invited to the 86th Academy Awards, you ask? Well, my best friend took me as her date. I met her seven years ago at an event where we both didn’t know a single person. We hit it off over a mutual respect for Chandler Bing, and we've been eating pizza together ever since.’

Laura shared with her myspace followers how she struggled to find a dress for one of the biggest nights in the showbiz calendar, describing how she argued with her family and her boyfriend prior to the event.

‘The fact that I was going to the show was no longer an idea but becoming a reality and like a 13-year-old girl at her birthday party, I had a complete meltdown.’

What we weren’t aware of watching at home is that at the entrance to the venue, there were religious protesters picketing.

Laura explains: ‘I am talking every inch of the sidewalk is full of God-fearing picket signs and psalms. Some have megaphones and are yelling inaudible sermons and others just shouting at the line of black cars.’

She continues, describing that there were shockingly: ‘Baptists with huge yellow signs of pictures of Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Walker saying "BURNING IN HELL" and other despicable things. It's so surreal and hate-filled.’

Laura even describes the famous moment when pal Jennifer face-planted the red carpet.

‘As we exit the car, my date eats s*** and uses my freshly done Lauren Conrad up do to break her fall. The crowd goes wild.’

However, then the unlikely Oscar guest describes how she felt she didn’t matter as she walked the red carpet alongside her actress best friend.

‘There are flashbulbs and people circling yet no one asks if I need any help because unless you are famous at the Oscars, you are completely invisible.’

Attending the Oscars involves a lengthy process of getting ready and waiting to get to the venue, meaning that the guests are often rather peckish by the time the ceremony starts.

‘It's around this time that you realize you are STARVING and haven't had any food since breakfast at 9 a.m. It's hot and you feel like you're going to pass out. After waiting for my date's category, her dad and I decide to hit the bar and just watch from the monitor behind the bar and slam a few drinks to make this tolerable. The Academy really needs to spring for more hors d'oeuvres options because now everyone is hammered.’

Even more interesting, Laura even describes how Brad Pitt smells amazing.

‘WTF dude you should bottle that smell and sell it… to me, exclusively.’
