Jennifer Ellison likes to keep busy, this year she landed a presenting role on new TV show, Dance Mums and last month she gave birth to her son Charlie. But while her days can be hectic Jennifer – who is also mum to sons Bobby, four, and Harry, 15 months tells Closer motherhood has completely transformed her.

Jennifer, 31, says: "Becoming a mum has totally changed me. I used to be out a lot and always buying expensive things, but now as long as my boys are alright, everything else is second best. It made me realise what's important in life."

Jennifer gained five stone during her second pregnancy, and last October, just three months after she had Harry she was slammed by vicious online trolls who hit out at her body.

She responded by Tweeting: "To all the horrible people commenting about my weight... I gave birth 12 WEEKS AGO! Sort your heads out my baby boy is my priority NOT my size!!"

She says: "I got so much abuse about my shape after I gave birth and not being immediately slim. I doubt the person sitting there being nasty looks like Brad Pitt! I don’t let any of it bother me now though, it just puts things into perspective."

The actress and model - who has been married to Rob Tickle for five years – admits after having three babies she sees her body in an entirely new light.

She says: "I spent years modelling, but it’s only now that I really appreciate my body. It’s an amazing thing that creates babies, and I respect it a lot more. I don’t worry about dieting or depriving my body anymore, it’s not a showcase of who I am."

Jennifer credits her background in dance for her strong and positive attitude to that means she can take harsh criticism.

She says: "I was a dance champion when I was younger, and some of the things you would get told in auditions were brutal. You had to develop a thick skin and learn how to deal with criticism, but it did make me stronger. It’s a tough industry but my passion."

Dance Mums with Jennifer Ellison is on Lifetime, Mondays, 9pm.
