But it wasn't until a routine eye test that she was told she is in fact dyslexic.
As the optician watched her eyes as she read, they noticed that the star, 45, missed out words, skimming over them to the next one.
Describing her relief, Jennifer said all of the problems in her life were suddenly explained.
'I thought I wasn't smart. I just couldn't retain anything.'
'Now I had this great discovery. I felt like all of my childhood traumas, tragedies, dramas were explained.'
This week, Jennifer also announced her and fiance Justin Theroux are trying for a baby.
