Despite divorce proceedings, Jean-Bernard Fernandez Versini 'wants to try again' with Cheryl.
It comes after it was revealed Cheryl planned to file for divorce after just 19 months of marriage, citing 'unreasonable behaviour'.
But according to reports and JB's family members, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's husband is pulling out all the stops to save their marriage and still hopes to have a baby with her.
It has been reported that Jean-Bernard has been sending the former Girls Aloud star flowers, chocolates and jewellery to prove his love 'is as strong as ever'.
Talking to T_he Sun on Sunday_, a close family member in France now says: "He does not want to divorce Cheryl and wants to make a go of their marriage. He's still in love with her.
"JB wanted a child with Cheryl, they were trying and he would still like a child if they stay together.
"Family is everything for JB, he was devoted to his parents Bernard and Francoise.
"They were together 37 years and were only separated when they died. As far as JB is concerned that is the only way a marriage should end.
"He's still wearing his wedding ring to show the world he wants to give their marriage a go.'"
The relative added: "Cheryl had a song about fighting for love if it was worth it. As far as JB is concerned the love he has for her is worth fighting for."
However, the newspaper has also claimed the former pop star has struck up a close friendship with Craig David after meeting at X Factor final - with an insider saying there's 'something special' between them.
