Jasmin Walia has opened up about her burgeoning music career.

The former TOWIE star told the Daily Star Sunday that since quitting the show she’s been busy working away in the studio, creating songs.

She said: "I've been in the studio and I'm working on some material. My sounds is commercial pop with a bit of hip-hop. Music is one my main focuses."

She also admitted she is moving on from her reality TV career and said her time on The Only Way Is Essex caused "a lot of unnecessary drama".

She revealed: "I was always trying to defend myself. I don't even know where most of the arguments came from - it was all a bit pointess. There was a lot of unnecessary drama."

Jasmine also opened up about her unsuccessful X Factor audition in 2014, saying the judges were tough with her because of her time on TV.

"I'm sure they had heard of TOWIE," she said. "I think they did grill me a bit because of who I am but I couldn't talk back to them at the time because I respect people.

"The X Factor was brutal but I just tried to take it all on the chin. I don't regret it.

"At the time, I was like 'Oh no' - I felt like I'd really let myself down. But do you know what? I just got nervous. It happens.

"It was a huge learning curve for me. I feel like I'm more confident now because of it. If I can sing in front of Simon then as a singer, I can practically do anything!"
