Loose Women panellist Janet Street-Porter is best known for her impressive career in TV and journalism (as is right and proper, we say) but she's also got a relationship history as colourful as her barnet - not to mention her language.
Who is Janet Street-Porter’s partner?
Janet has been in a relationship with former restauranteur and entrepreneur Peter Spanton since 1999, although they keep their relationship entirely out of the limelight - in fact, there is very little photographic evidence of them together on the internet at all. But you can trust us.
What is Janet Street-Porter’s partner’s age?
Peter Spanton is 65 years old.
What is Janet Street-Porter’s partner’s career?
Peter was big on the London restaurant scene in the 80s and 90s, running and owning the Vic Naylor’s bar and restaurant in Clerkenwell up until 2005.
After selling up, Peter launched his own company, Peter Spanton drinks, selling fancy tonics and mixers.
Does Peter Spanton have Twitter?
It doesn’t look as though Peter has his own personal twitter, but his business, Peter Spanton drinks, is at @peterspanton_.
Does Peter Spanton have Instagram?
Again, the company has its own Instagram, which is pretty profesh, but there doesn’t appear to be any personal evidence of Janet Street-Porter’s beau.
Is Janet Street-Porter married?
Despite getting hitched a number of times in the past (more on that in a bit) Janet isn’t married to Peter Spanton – or anyone else, as far as we know.
Who has Janet Street-Porter married?
While Janet and Peter haven’t tied the knot themselves, the former Independent on Sunday editor has got quite a few ex-husbands to her name – although she only took the moniker of one.
Janet Street-Porter and Tim Street-Porter
Tim was Janet’s first husband and she clearly thought theirs was a marriage for life as she took his name when she wed him aged just 19 in 1967.
The couple met as students and despite writing in her 2006 autobiography that they were “interested in the same music, art and movies”, something was clearly missing as Janet admitted she had “several affairs” before they divorced in 1975.
Janet Street-Porter and Tony Elliot
The same year, Janet married Time Out Group founder and publisher Tony Elliot, but the couple were only wed for two years, with Janet saying on Loose Women, “I turned to him and said ‘well that was a mistake,’ within 24 hours [of marrying] and he said ‘I agree’.
"I said ‘we were such great friends, exactly the same age, why on earth did we get married?’"
Tony passed away in 2020.
Janet Street Porter and Frank Cvitanovich
Two years after separating from her second husband, in 1979, Janet got married for a third time – this time to successful film and documentary maker Frank Cvitanovich. Frank himself was married five times, and his union with JSP lasted just two years.
Frank died in 1995.
Janet Street-Porter and David Sorkin
Janet describes her fourth marriage as “a big, big mistake”, wedding toyby David Sorkin in Las Vegas at 3.30 in the morning.
“I thought ‘I don’t know why I’m saying the words ‘I do’ but I’m just saying I do’ then I was back in the hotel and I was like, ‘ugh’.”
