While the highly anticipated adaption of the racy novels hasn’t been amazingly received by the critics, it’s so far taken over £84 million at the Box Office – but this apparently hasn’t been enough to keep Jamie, 32, on board.
According to reports, Jamie’s wife Amelia Warner, also 32, is struggling to cope with the millions of women now lusting after her husband.
A source told Australian magazine NW: “Jamie said the movie would sky rocket his career. He tried to assure Amelia nothing would change but women all over the world now lust after Jamie.
“She hasn’t seen the film and I don’t think she will to be honest.”
It’s reported that Jamie also blames co-star Dakota Johnson for the bad reviews. The source continued: “Jamie does not think his performance was bad – instead he blames Dakota and says it wasn’t possible to have chemistry with her. He says Dakota gave him nothing to work with.”
News of Jamie wanting to pull out comes after it was claimed director Sam Taylor-Johnson is also quitting the franchise after clashing with author EL James.
Jamie is yet to respond to the rumours, but can the film really continue without Christian Grey?
Heartbroken fans reacted to the reports on Twitter, with many insisting the film could not work without him.
“Jamie Dornan’s wife says she doesn’t want to see fifty shades of grey. Jealous much,” one fan fumed.
Another user added: “If it’s true that Jamie Dornan is not going to do the sequel for fifty shades that’s going to be so heartbreaking.”
One fan begged: “Pls don’t let it be true, Jamie Dornan needs to be in fifty Shades Darker.”
