James Corden relocating to America for new show

James Corden has been announced as the new host of America's 'The Late Late Show' and is planning to relocate to the US to prepare for his new role.

The 36-year-old Gavin and Stacey star will be taking over from Craig Ferguson, who is leaving the show in December after 9 years as the host.

James tweeted his fans a thank you message

Corden excitedly tweeted a thank you to his fans for all of their support.

" Thanks everyone for your incredibly kind messages about my new job hosting The Late Late Show on @CBS. I hope I do you all proud. X" he wrote.

James also tweeted Craig Feguson

Corden also thanked Craig, the current host of The Late Late Show. "Thank you so much Craig. That's truly made my day. You are a true gent and a tough act to follow! X" he gushed.

Corden has had experience hosting before, having worked on Sky sporting panel show A League Of Their Own as well as having hosted The Brits, but will really busy working on the show, which airs every weekday in the US.

It is not yet known when Corden will start but James, who is expecting his second child with wife Julia Carey, has a lot to be excited about.

"I can't describe how thrilled and honoured I am to be taking over from the brilliant Craig Ferguson" he said in a statement.

"To be asked to host such a prestigious show on America's number one network is hugely exciting. I can't wait to get started, and will do my very best to make a show America will enjoy".
