Martin Fowler’s name has been making the rounds on Twitter following a dramatic EastEnders episode.

But people weren’t tweeting about the storyline - oh no.

Instead, they were busy questioning why Stacey’s inept boyfriend had suddenly taken to wearing a MASSIVE blue bandage on his arm.

And, more importantly, why none of the other characters had mentioned it.

Viewers would have been far less confused about things if they’d clicked into our story from June.

It was here that we informed the world that James Bye - the actor who plays Martin - had severed an artery in a serious ‘avocado’ accident.

Yup, we’re serious.

Around that time, James revealed that he had slipped while trying to cut the stone out of an avocado and slashed his arm.

He rushed to A&E, where doctors discovered that he had damaged an artery and ligaments in his hand.

They treated his wounds and popped him in a cast up to his elbow - meaning show bosses have to come up with an accident for Martin to explain away the bandages.

He explained to SoapSquawk: “I was trying to get a pip out of an avocado and I put the knife through my hand.

“It went through an artery and the ligament, which makes me feel sick thinking about it.

“I’m ok though, but I’ll be in a cast for a while so they are writing it into the show.”

James Bye on the red carpet

Looks like somebody forgot to write the accident into the script, eh?

James Bye, however, couldn’t help laughing at the reactions to his VERY obvious and VERY blue cast on Twitter.

He wrote: “Loving the comments about the arm! Some seriously funny people out there...

“Some...not so much.”

In a cheeky homage to Jaws, he added: “We're gonna need a bigger bandage.”

No kidding, Jimmy! We hope your arm is well and truly on the mend.
