The pair have already spoken about having children and are now talking about taking vulnerable kids into their care.
Lydia wants to follow in the footsteps of her mum Debbie Douglas, 52, who has fostered 247 children over the past two decades.
Speaking to The Sunday people, Lydia, 29, said: "Arg and I have spoken about fostering and how positive it is. He loves children and has met my foster brothers and sisters.
"Fostering is something I don't think either of us would rule out."
The admission will come as a surprise to TOWIE viewers because of the on-off -nature of the couple's relationship.
Arg, 28, who is currently starring in Channel 4’s gruelling winter sports reality show, was dumped by teenage sweetheart Lydia last October. But the couple are loved up once again.
Lydia posted online pics last week of the two enjoying a romantic horse-and-carriage ride in Austria where James is competing in The Jump.
