Former Loose Women panellist Jamelia has revealed that she and her daughter were the victims of racism.

The mother or two – who revealed the incident in a series of Tweets – began by Tweeting: “You know when you have a lovely day & someone just kills your vibe?“

She then went on to explain that her and her youngest daughter, Tiani, had had a lovely day out together, but that the day turned sour after a woman on the train accused them of not having first class tickets.

The singer then went on to explain that when she questioned the woman about why she had picked them out, the woman couldn’t justify it – leading Jamelia to believe that the reason was that she is a “young black girl.”

Wanting to avoid further confrontation, Jamelia and her daughter moved seats... but that wasn’t the end of it. A white man soon sat with the woman who had questioned them about their tickets, however when she didn’t question him, Jamelia’s 11-year-old daughter took her to task, asking: “Are you not going to ask him for his credentials then?”

Jamelia’s fans were quick to praise her for standing up for herself, and the singer even admitted that this isn't the first time she’s experience something like this, but this time she decided to say something because her daughter was there.

Oh, and in case you were wondering. Yes, Jamelia and her daughter did in fact have first class train tickets!
