The Loose Women presenter, 34, landed herself in hot water yesterday when she insisted that the high street shouldn’t cater to bigger women.

And, despite coming under fire for her comments, singer Jamelia isn’t backing down.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today, she said: “Knowing that I offended people really upset me and knowing I made people question themselves and their choices. All I can do is apologise for that.

“But I do stand by what I said – I am a real woman with real opinions.”

The Superstar hit maker insisted her remarks were not intended to upset people but, with the nature of her job, sometimes it’s inevitable.

She continued: “I’m not here to play some villain. It’s not that, I get paid to voice my opinion. Occasionally you offend people.”

But she stands by the point she was trying to make

Mum-of-two Jamelia believes that, by stocking clothes in extreme sizes, the high street is encouraging unhealthy lifestyles.

She said: “I don’t believe stores should stock clothes below or above a certain weight. They should be made to feel uncomfortable when they go in and can’t find a size.”
