In fact, some have even gone as far as to say they ‘knew it was coming’ and have ridiculed the couple for the way in which they announced their split.
But one person who thinks that those people are out of line is presenter Jameela Jamil. She insists that Gwyneth and Chris – along with their children – are going through a tough enough time as it is without everyone else giving their opinion.
She said: “At the end of the day, these are two really nice people, who raised a nice family, and were really nice to their kids, and spread a nice, positive message to people.
“Their kids are dealing with the fact that they may never be tucked into bed by both their parents EVER again.”
Continuing the rant on her blog, Jameela insisted that the cruel comments made by some were not needed, and that they need to let Gwyneth and Chris get on with the situation.
She said: “And now [the children] are going to read all of our sh*tty comments about how funny we think it is that their family has broken down.
“We can ridicule them as much as we like as we all sit around failing miserably most of the time, but not noticing because we are too busy pointing the finger at people like them.”
Jameela even owned up to previously mocking Gwyneth herself, and saying she was wrong to do so.
“You know what? I’m a d*ck,” she said. “How dare we persecute people for wanting to be well and happy and wishing the same on us?”
