Dancing on Ice star Jake Quickenden has revealed exclusively to Closer the weirdest thing he’s heard from a fan, and it’s certainly not orthodox (or sanitary)

“I keep getting inboxed about sending my gym socks after I’ve worn them in the gym, like 'can we buy your sweaty gym socks?’” he said. “Why would anyone want them? They reek after the gym… and the price is going up as well!”

The comments come as Jake, who first shot to fame on The X Factor in 2013 and has gone on to appear on the skating show and I’m A Celebrity, prepares for a Christmas run playing Prince Charming in Portsmouth’s pantomime production of Cinderella.

Noting that his accent is potentially not quite right for the part, he revealed he’s been taking cues from another famous voice.

“My northern voice will have to go a bit posher I guess,” he said. “I was with Spencer Matthews and he’s quite posh, so I was copying him. I’ll get lessons off Spencer on how to be posh.”

The family friendly role of Prince Charming is a far cry from his last stint at Southsea, when Jake joined infamous male strip troupe Dreamboys for a special run of their show. Speaking of the, ahem, clientele, it seems he’s unlikely to have any difficulty dealing with over-excited Disney fans when panto starts next month.

“The women in the crowd at Dreamboys get very lairy – until you meet them at the end and they go really quiet and shy,” he told us. “It’s funny seeing a fifty year old woman proper going for it and loving it and then you meet her afterward and she’s [very quiet].

“I’ve really enjoyed dreamboys, but I don’t think I’m good enough at dancing to do Magic Mike! I’m alright, but I’m no Channing Tatum.”
