The 24-year-old hopes his mum's honest account of her experience as a domestic abuse survivor will help others in similar situations.
The X Factor runner up's father Eustace was jailed for torturing his mum with a blowtorch, and his violent tendencies even spread to Jahmene and his brother Daniel- who eventually took his own life.
Speaking about his mother's book 'You Can't Run', the former Asda worker said:
"I read it before it came out but I didn't know all of it.
"I knew the violence but I didn't know what my mum was going through. I always tried to protect her but it never really worked as I was too young."
He added: "Reading it was very emotional. I could't write a book like that and get it all out.
"I always told my mum you should write it out to get it out. Not just to release it but to share it as well."
