Megan Tomlin’s brother, Remzi, told Reveal magazine that his sister tried to reach out to Jacqueline to warn her of Dan’s ways, but he put a stop to all efforts of contact.
He said: “[Megan] asked Dan if she could meet her [Jacqueline] and he said no – point blank. He’s told them both so many lies about each other and he’s scared of being caught out.
Jac continued: “I can assure you I wouldn't stand by a man capable of everything dan has been made out to be, he is my best friend, boyfriend… and he is a brilliant father, above all else, I just want to clear up, he has never once been violent or even shown signs towards me at all.”
She added: “I am 100 percent not saying what Daniel has said was right or okay, but people make mistakes when on dark places, and it's somethingthat we sorted out privately not in front of the whole world, it's something he has apologised for and is embarrassed about.”
Her mother Selina, whom Jac and Dan’s daughter Ella is named after, also took to Twitter, sharing an image which read: “Sticks and stones - the power of words.”
She added: “Thought for the day.”
Their comments come after Dan’s ex, Megan Tomlin, spoke out about his behaviour in association with domestic violence charity Refuge’s new campaign, 2Women2Many.
The 22-year-old mum explained: “He tried to make me believe that the situation between us was my fault.
"You can hear this on the tape, when Daniel tells me I’ve broken up the family, despite the fact he moved on when I was four months pregnant – causing a considerable amount of strain and stress during such a precious time – only to then return once our son was born and leave again when he was four months old."
Megan was not paid for her comments.
