Jacqueline Jossa briefly returned to EastEnders earlier this year, when her alter-ego Lauren Branning attended her father’s trial for murder.

While she was in Albert Square, her character welcomed her and Peter Beale (Ben Hardy)’s first baby together - Louis - before returning to New Zealand to be with her childhood sweetheart.

Now, with Ben filming for the new X-Men movie, and Jacqueline enjoying time with her baby daughter, Ella Selina, it seems as if EastEnders viewers may have to wait a LONG time before we see them back in Walford together.

If at all.

Speaking at the launch of new restaurant Chi Kitchen on London’s Oxford Street, Jacqueline told OK! Online: “I have no idea [if I’m going back soon], I’m just seeing how it goes and I’ll never say I wouldn’t go back.

“The only time I wouldn’t say I was going back was if they sacked me or if they decided they didn’t want me.

“It’s in their hands but I’m just happy to be a part of the show.”

She added: “It is all going on in EastEnders and it’s not surprising there’s never a dull moment.

“I wish I knew what was going on for the Christmas specials but now I’m just a viewer!”

We really do hope she DOES come back - life won’t be the same in Walford without Lauren.
