The 43 year-old raised eyebrows on Tuesday night when she performed her new single ‘Live It Up’ while wearing a high-cut black leotard which revealed her trademark ‘J-Lo bum.’

Despite the fact the performance was aired after the 9pm watershed, Ofcom received over 100 complaints from viewers who were outraged that ITV would schedule such racy content in a family-orientated program.

Twitter was also set ablaze with criticism. One angry tweeter called for Jennifer to ‘put some clothes on’ and accused the star of being a bad role model for young female fans watching the show.

Charlotte Vine said: ‘#JenniferLopez put some clothes on, #BGT is a family show, what sort of role model are you being for the young girls watching?’

But show boss Simon Cowell highlighted the performer’s talent and called her ‘world class.’

While judge Amanda Holden celebrated Jennifer’s most famous asset,. Tweeting after the show, Amanda said: ‘J-Lo's a**e... I just wanted to bite it! It was fabulous.’

Today, Jennifer defended her outfit choice, claiming the leotard was ‘just standard stage clothes’ and that she is ‘tame’ compared to other raunchy performers. The singer also pointed out that she wore the same outfit on a prime-time TV show in the states at the Billboard awards – where no complaints were made.

Here’s what you had to say:

Facebook user Steph said of J-Lo: ‘She's a mother she should be behaving herself’

While Becci and Jennifer called Jennifer’s performance ‘cringy’ and ‘inappropriate for kids.’

However, Facebook fan Emma claimed that those who complaining were ‘losing sight of what is actually inappropriate,’

She said: ‘I can't see the nation's kids being traumatized because a beautiful woman danced on a stage.’

Emma continued: ‘The Internet provides worse things than a lady in a leotard dancing sexily’

‘She is a 40 year old mother but she is also a WOMAN and why shouldn't she dance and dress the way she wants,’ said Emma.

She and Facebook follower Toni agreed that J-Lo looked hot and should be proud of her body.
