They’re facing their toughest challenge yet as a married couple, and it appears Mark Wright is already feeling the strain of being separated from Michelle Keegan.

Last week Michelle, 28, jetted to South Africa, where she’ll spend six-months filming the new series of BBC One drama Our Girl.

Unsurprisingly the former Coronation Street actress is thrilled with her new surroundings – but hubby Mark, 29, looked glum in his latest Instagram selfie.

Alongside a snap of her next to the pool, Michelle wrote: “My annual ‘I’m here working in the sun’ pose #luckygirl [sic].”

In contrast, Mark’s picture was captioned is solemn picture: “Mood in the facials when on your way to work Monday mornings !! [sic].”

Michelle, who married Mark in May last year, has taken over from EastEnders actress Lacey Turner as the lead in the critically acclaimed drama – putting over 6,000 miles between her and former TOWIE star Mark during filming.

Mark attended the National Television Awards with Michelle earlier this month, and they seemed to be making the most of their time together. They were inseparable for most of the evening, and were seen whispering and joking while spending time with his parents.

While he’s insisted he’ll try and get to South Africa as much as he can, Mark is a busy man with his various presenting jobs, including a show on Capital FM.

Earlier this month he told OK! Magazine: “I’m quite busy with Take Me Out: The Gossip so I’ll have to go backwards and forwards. I’ll definitely be supporting her, though.”
