We all like to think our favourite TV characters are real and in Michelle Keegan’s case, there’s more than a few parallels between her tumultuous personal life and on-screen army medic, Lance Corporal Georgie Lane.
In a teaser about the hit BBC show being commissioned for a third series, Michelle’s character declares: "Husbands? They're overrated. I've got something much more important. I have a job to do."

Michelle spent much of last year filming Our Girl in Africa and defending her hubby after his embarrassing spat with Danny Dyer at the V Festival. We presume that filming for the third series will take place on location, meaning more days apart for the couple who have reportedly delayed their baby-making plans for 12 months due to Michelle’s heavy workload.
Fans of Our Girl were thrilled by a dramatic finale that saw Jamie (Royce Pierreson) get jilted and first love Elvis (Luke Pasqualino) get cast aside by Georgie as she prioritises her refugee work in Kenya over love.
Michelle hinted the love triangle is set to evolve as the series continues, with an Instagram snap of behind-the-scenes takes and the caption: #teamjamie or #teamelvis?
In a statement about the show’s renewal, Michelle said: "I'm so happy that we'll be back for another series as I think there's definitely more stories to tell with Georgie.
"The reaction to the show has been overwhelming and I'm really thankful to everyone who's watched and supported it.
"It was an amazing experience filming with such an incredible group of people and I can't wait to do it all over again."
Michelle posted a number of wrap up pics on Instagram including this throwback to where it all began with the caption: “Because it's the finale I'll show you where it all began... At bootcamp! First time I put the uniform on and the first time I held a fire arm!”
And this tribute to her colleagues and fans: "Well that's an official wrap. One of the most incredible experiences of my life.
"Thank you so much for your amazing support I feel so emotional right now. Thank you also to the amazing people who I was lucky enough to work with on this special project. #OurGirl2016"
But fans of the brunette beauty are most excited about this hilarious nod to Baywatch, as Kegs channels Pam Anderson with sassy hair flicks as she slow motion jogs down the beach with her hot heroes.
The video has been watched over 750,000 times and counting. We can’t wait to see how Michelle and Georgie go from strength to strength in the next year.
