The April cover was revealed yesterday, featuring Kim in what appears to be a wedding dress, being hugged from behind by fiancé Kanye.

As well as being Kim’s first, it is also the first time a hashtag has been used on the cover of Vogue, with the statement: “worldsmosttalkedaboutcouple.”

But the reaction on social networking sites such as Twitter wasn’t all positive, with a huge amount of people thinking Anna’s decision to feature the reality TV star was a bad one.

Previously it was reported that Kanye asked personal friend Anna to feature his wife-to-be, but she instead used actress Lena Dunham.

Anna dismissed these rumours in her April editor's letter

At the time, a source said: “To Kanye, it’s insulting that his friend Anna is still refusing to even consider putting Kim on the cover of Vogue. He thinks Anna is listening to bunch of no-nothing corporate haters, as he put it.

“He’s upset that Anna isn’t willing to him this personal favour and put Kim on the cover.”

However, it seems Kanye’s persistence finally paid off, despite Anna’s insistence that Kanye had nothing to do with her decision to finally feature Kim.

But it might have come as a surprise to many, after it was reported a few months ago that Anna would put Kim on the cover ‘over my dead body’, with a source saying: “Anna is NO fan of Kim or any other reality star appearing in the pages of the magazine.”

Addressing the rumours in her April editor’s letter, Anna said: “You may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancée on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort.

“Kanye is an amazing performer and a cultural provocateur, while Kim, through the strength of her character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world’s spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that.”

Another wrote: “Vogue magazine have just lost all credibility and prestige by putting Kim K on the front cover,” and another swiped: “People who cover Vogue should be the hottest people in current fashion or who are inspirational/make a difference. Kim K is not that woman.”

Kim and the rest of her family don’t seem to be letting the negativity get them down, with Kim, sister Khloe and mother Kris Jenner all excitedly posting the image on Instagram.

Captioning her photo, Kim wrote: “This is such a dream come true! Thank you @VogueMagazine for this cover! O M GGGGGG!!! I can’t even breathe!”
