Maggie Kirkpatrick has been charged by Australia's Victoria Police’s Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team with two counts of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency with a person under the age of 16.
Victoria Police confirmed: "A 74-year-old NSW woman has been charged with two counts of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency with a person under the age of 16."
The report in the Herald Sun goes on to state that the charges stem from an incident involving a 13-year-old girl in the 1980s.
The actress told the Herald Sun that she will fight to clear her name.

"I need to go to court to have this ridiculous situation quashed," she said.
"Allegations have been levelled at me, yes. Are they true? Absolutely not.
"The evidence is in the court. I don't think it's appropriate that I say any more."
She added: "The case will be in Melbourne Magistrates Court on August 19.
Maggie appeared in Home and Away back in 1991 as Marilyn's aunt, Jean Chambers.

As well as appearing in Home And Away, Maggie Kirkpatrick also starred as lesbian prison officer Joan "The Freak" Ferguson in Prisoner Cell Block H.
