Since the news came to light that Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis has been dismissed from the show with “immediate effect” the rumour mill went into overdrive.
Stephanie, 22, has played Sinead O’Connor in the show since 2010 and in April signed another year long deal with the Channel 4 soap.
Now the sad reason Stephanie was cast out has come to light. A statement from her agent read: “Stephanie's contract was terminated following warnings for lateness, attendance and after a final incident in which she turned up to set unfit to work because of alcohol consumption.”
It’s a sad ending for the star, who recently revealed her love for the drama.
“I'm really happy, Stephanie told the Star in April. “I've been in the show since I was 16 and I'm 22 now. I've kind of grown up here, which has been mental.”
Since the statement was released Stephanie hasn’t spoken but, just before being sacked, she posted a cryptic photograph on Instagram which said: “Wake up early tomorrow. Eat a good breakfast. Do you hair and makeup and put on a kick-ass outfit.
“Buy your cup of coffee and enjoy every sip of it. Go to work, make that money, and learn something new in the process. Nourish. Grow. Inspire.”
It continued: “Self-destruction is not an option. And let every choice you make be a brick in the foundation of rebuilding yourself.”
