Nikki Sanderson recently confirmed that she's dating long-time friend Greg Whitehurst, a married man whose wedding she was a guest at fifteen months ago.
And the couple were spotted getting cosy at The Mirror’s Animal Hero Awards this week.
When the tabloid asked Nikki whether her relationship is getting serious, the Hollyoaks star replied: "Yes, kind of, yeah we are. We are very happy.
“But I can't divulge the private stuff."
While she wouldn’t confirm whether or not the pair are now living together, Greg seemed to let the cat (or should that be ‘dog’?) out of the bag later on in the night.
He said: "I'm an animal lover myself. I mean, I've got a dog and a cat and I'm after more with Nik.
“I’m just trying to convince her to let me have another dog.
“I love animals."
Nikki, who plays Maxine Minniver in the hit Channel 4 soap, was a guest at Greg’s wedding to his wife Sarah in July 2014.
His marriage broke down at the beginning of 2015 - although there is nothing to suggest that Nikki had any involvement in the split.
Speaking in a statement issued in May, Nikki said: “I have known Greg and his family for many years. Greg's marriage ended in January, it was a very difficult time for him during which all of his friends and family supported him.
“We have started recently dating and its early days, so we are not rushing into anything but are both enjoying each other's company.”
