That’s right, in a situation that could easily make up a soap plot line, Nikki has started dating Greg Whitehurst, just ten months after watching him get married to long term girlfriend Sarah.

The 31-year-old Hollyoaks actress can even be seen smiling and watching as Greg and Sarah enjoy their first dance together in footage from the day.

A friend of the separated couple Sarah and Greg said: ‘The whole thing is a mess. A marriage split is always devastating for everyone involved, let alone when it ends so quickly.’

‘It’s like a tangled plotline from a soap.’

One of 25-year-old Sarah’s family members has said she is unable to talk to them about the split, adding they are ‘very worried about Sarah’s welfare’ as news broke of Greg's relationship with Nikki.

‘We are also pretty angry, especially as Nikki was at the wedding.’

In footage from their wedding day, Insurance Boss Greg can be seen pledging his undying love for Sarah, telling her: ‘I pledge to spend the rest of my life with you.’

While it is unclear what caused the marriage to breakdown, things seemed to be fine at the start of 2015, with the couple bringing in the new year with friends.

But just months later, and Nikki and Greg have both been tweeting about their relationship, with Greg treating his new girlfriend to a Mulberry bag back in March.

‘The boy did good…Very good. Thanku 4 my amazing present @gregsvh #definitelydidntdeserveit #luckygirl #Mullberry.’

Speaking to the Sunday People, Nikki said: 'I have known Greg and his family for many years.'

'Greg’s marriage ended in January. It was a very difficult time for him during which all of his friends and family supported him.'

'We have started recently dating and its early days, so we are not rushing into anything but are both enjoying each other’s company.'

Do you think after a marriage breakdown you should wait to embark on a new relationship? Or do whatever you need to do to move on?
