Relationships forming at the office is incredibly common – so it’s no surprise that the set of Hollyoaks is no different to the average workplace when it comes to romance.

Charlie Clapham, who plays bad boy Freddie Roscoe on the Channel 4 soap, spoke candidly about his past romantic relationships with cast mate Tamara Wall (who plays Grace Black) and former co-star and alleged Celebrity Big Brother participant Stephanie Davis (whose contract was terminated suddenly in 2015).

The 24-year-old actor was recently profiled by The Leicester Mercury{ =nofollow}, and said: "As I'm getting older, I think more that mixing business and pleasure maybe is not the best idea.

“But, we're a company of young actors and actresses; it would be strange if relationships weren't happening.

"We all respect our jobs and I know I love and respect mine. You carry on with what you do, regardless of what's happened in your personal life.

Despite the subtle dig, Charlie insists there was no behind-the-scenes drama.

"You have to be professional. It's all fine."

Phew!
