Hollyoaks actor Parry Glasspool, who plays Harry Thompson, has been suspended from the show for uploading a video onto his Instagram which appears to be making light of domestic violence.

Brandishing a knife, the 30 second video is entitled 'When girls try and hide their crazy...', with the actor saying: "Babe, I don't mind you talking to other girls, OK? No, actually I would. I would kill you if you did. Wouldn’t even know how to.

"With this knife I know exactly how to. Done it before and I’ll do it again so don’t even think about it."

This comes just months after he had to apologise for a "date rape" joke about Love Island contestant Daniel Lukakis. In another video, Parry said: "How is this Daniel 23? I'm 24 - he looks like he could have fathered me as his love child.

"Explains why he's such a tool. Really creepy guy. He's the kind of guy that when he walks past your girlfriend in a bar, you put your hand over her glass to - you know - stop the date rape."

Since the knife video, Parry has deleted all his social media profiles, been suspended from Hollyoaks and released a statement.

“I want to say sorry to anyone I have upset or offended.

"My friends would know that I would never condone domestic violence in any way and I am mortified that people would think that about me.

"My post, made a few months ago, was intended to be a funny take on other videos that I had seen shared on social media but on reflection was not appropriate for my followers.

"It wasn’t meant to be sinister but I can see why it was viewed as such. I will be taking a break from social media."

According to reports, the actor has received a "substantial fine" - the exact amount isn't known - which will be donated to a domestic violence charity.
