Recapping the case, Phillip Schofield confirmed that the Lostprophets singer had pleaded guilty to the following 13 offences over the last five years earlier this week:
-
2 counts of attempted rape
-
2 counts of sexual assault
-
Aiding and abetting a woman to sexually abuse her own child
-
Making and possessing indecent photographs of children
-
Possessing extreme pornographic content involving bestiality on his computer
-
Possessed a 17 minute video of him performing a sex act on a baby - Watkins was identified by his tattoos
Williams-Thomas admitted that the case was the worst case he had ever come across, comparing it to the Fred and Rose West case.
In an effort to understand Watkins horrific actions, a visibly upset Holly, mother to a 4-year-old Harry and a 2-year-old Belle, asked whether Watkins was born this way.
While Nixon admitted that sex offenders have often been abused themselves in the past, William-Thomas pointed out that whatever the background - that this is 'chosen behaviour'
When William-Thomas revealed that an increasing number of abusers are abusing babies that are just days old, in the knowledge they will be unable to give evidence, a tearful Holly admitted she had heard enough.
The 32-year-old took to Twitter later in the day, writing:
‘Hi, tough subject on the show today but really important that we talk openly about it...thanks for all your kind words. Xxx’
