Holly Willoughby divides fans with ‘distasteful’ Christmas decorations

Holly Willoughby has left fans feeling divided after showing off her Christmas decorations.

The This Morning presenter posted a photo of herself outside her front door in a glam outfit and she wrote alongside the snap, "Out tonight with @varietygb celebrating @bbc 100th birthday 🎂.

"#hwstyle💁🏼‍♀️✨ dress by @victoriabeckham 🖤 Thank you @earlyhoursltd for kick starting our Christmas 🎄."

And while lots of her celeb pals were quick to compliment the TV presenter, some were less than impressed with her festive decorations.

"No energy or cost of living crisis here please don't rub our nose in it," wrote one follower.

Someone else said, "I don’t think you are concerned about your electricity bill! How many lights do you have around your door🎄🎄🎄🎄".

A third commented, "A little distasteful given the cost of living crisis 🙄".

One more added, "So sycophantic I have to unfollow you. Head totally in the clouds and such a skewed sense of reality! Sad, very sad that the money is more important than anything else".

However others defended the star with one person saying, "You always get one who wants to put the damper on someone enjoying themselves it's called the green eyed monster... Love Holly she's worked really hard to where she's got to today."

Another wrote, "Wow! The door, the dress, the hair, it's all amazing!!"

Holly and TV producer Dan first met on the set on kids show Ministry of Mayhem back in 2004, and Holly occasionally shares snippets of their relationship on Instagram, so her sweet Valentine’s Day post earlier this year didn't come as a surprise to her followers.

The mum-of-three shared a throwback picture of the two of them partying at the NTA’s clearly having a fab time as they both giggling away (not to mention looking great, with Holly in her pretty polka dot pink gown and Dan suited and booted).

She captioned the post with a simple heart emoji. Cute.

Still going strong after 15 years together, Holly isn’t shy about gushing over Dan, once saying, “I mean obviously I really love Dan. We really have a good laugh together and I don’t want to sound like a massive cliché but we get on really well... I rely on him for a lot of stuff. I think we just work better as a pair."

In April 2021, Holly announced she's releasing her own book. Sharing the news on Instagram she explained, "I’ve been working on a very special project - a book! Writing is such a personal process and between these pages you will find many little pieces of me.

"The book is called Reflections and is essentially thoughts and musings from me on inner and outer beauty. We live in a world where so much is about how we present ourselves on the outside and there is fun to be had here but true beauty comes from within… there is an alignment that needs to happen and finding that balance hasn’t always felt so easy."

She continued, "Now, I’m finally at a point in my life where I can see a little more clearly and I want to share my truths in the hope that maybe they’ll help you too.

"This book is my celebration of how inner and outer beauty can work together in perfect harmony.

"I hope this book will start conversations, whether they’re about how to find your signature lipstick, reclaim your sexuality, or treat yourself more kindly – and, ultimately, what it means to feel beautiful, confident, complete."
