Fans are calling out for Holly Willoughby to replace Ant McPartlin as Dec Donnelly's co-host - after Ant pulled out of his foreseeable TV commitments following his arrest for alleged drink driving last weekend.

This comes after Dec joked that Holly had replaced Ant on the first episode of the last series of I'm A Celeb, saying: "I'm here with the gorgeous Holly Willoughby...' before adding in mock horror: 'Wait, no! Guys that's the wrong script! You've put the wrong script in!'"

He then turned to Ant and said: "No one was sure if you would make it or not!"

Ant then said: "I was always going to make it, come on."

But now many people on Twitter are expressing wishes this will happen for real - see below for examples.

Following Ant's arrest last Sunday, ITV released a statement saying: "ITV has taken a joint decision with Ant and Dec’s team not to broadcast Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.

"We will be reviewing options for the last two episodes of the series (March 31 and April 7) which would not feature Ant who is taking time off to seek treatment. We very much hope that he gets the help that he needs."

And Dec subsequently followed it up his own statement, which read: "Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead.

"We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that.
